Some years ago (in August, 2005), I followed the route of the original BCP in a south-to-north direction - after a climb up Ben Nevis two days previously! More recently (October, 2012), Jane and I did the route in the opposite direction - starting in Coldingham and finishing in Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Although the weather was not quite as nice as it was on my summer (August) expedition, the winter (October) trek was extremely enjoyable - but, in some places, a little muddy under-foot. The weather was kind to us (it didn't really rain - just a bit at the start!) and the scenery was spectacular. What an experience! We hope to return next summer and do the complete new 28-mile route from Berwick to Cockburnspath.
A selection of some of the photos that we took during our recent (2012) Berwickshire walking expedition can be seen by clicking on the appropriate pink button below. Some of the 2005 photos are also available for viewing.
