A-Walking: Osmotherley Circular via Swainby

Our three walks on Sunday, 24th November, each followed circular routes from Osmotherley. The A-Walk was led by Jane Thompson - pictured below. There were five walkers in the group. Jane's route covered a distance of 14 miles and took in Thimbleby, Foxton Mill, Sandpit Lane, Thimbleby Bank, Big Wood, Oak Dale, Square Corner, Miley Pike, Swainby Shooting House, Stony Ridge, Swainby, Scarth Wood Farm and Tire Bank.

This walk was previously scheduled to run in November, 2012 but was cancelled because there were not enough people on the coach. When we did the pre-walk check (PWC) for this event, we parked in Swainby and then did an anticlockwise trek - south to Osmotherley and Thimbleby and back via the shooting house. Essentially, today's walk followed the same circular route as we did during the PWC. However, it started and finished in Osmotherley instead of Swainby. We had a great lunch-stop at Swainby Shooting House - where we met up with the C-Walkers. Our tea-stop took place near Tire Bank in South Wood.
 
On finishing the walk we had a wonderful pot of tea in The Coffee Pot in Osmotherley.
