Wednesday Evening Walking from Lord Stones (2012-07-18)
On Wednesday, 18th July, a small group of Stockton Rambling Club members met at 7:00 pm at Lord Stones cafe for a five-mile circular walk around Bilsdale West Moor. The route that the group followed took in Thwaites House, Staindale, Raisdale Mill Plantation, Barker's Crags, Brian's Pond and the dis-used glider station at the top of Carlton Bank. Details of the route can be seen by clicking on the button below.
Although, in places, the route was a little damp underfoot, both the weather and the walking conditions were quite reasonable and there were some good views to be had both from the valley and the high-ground.
Many thanks to Jane and Phil for planning and leading the walk. The actual route taken was one of three different options they had prepared - depending upon the weather conditions the level of water under-foot and who turned out on the day.
Some of the photos that we took during the evening's walking expedition can be seen by clicking on the pink button below:

Many thanks to John Carter and Phil Barker for taking the photographs.
