Wednesday Evening Walking from the Tees Barrage (2012-08-22)

On Wednesday, 22nd August, twenty-two evening-walkers met at 7:00 pm at The Talpore hostelry for a four-mile circular walk around Portrack Marshes.

The route that the group followed took in Teesside White Water Centre, The Marshes, a section of the Teesdale Way, the A19 Tees Viaduct, Newport Bridge, Lustrum Beck and Portrack. Details of the route can be seen by clicking on the button below.

After the official walk finished, a few members of the group extended the route by walking along the north bank of the River Tees - up as far as the Infinity Bridge at Stockton-on-Tees. They then re-traced their steps in order to join other members of the group for some refreshments in The Talpore.

Many thanks to Lynne Trattles for planning and leading the walk. Thanks also to Denise Partington for acting as our back-marker.
