A-Walking: Ormesby Bank to Saltburn

Sunday’s A-walk to Saltburn on 6th January was the first one on our 2013 walks programme. It was led by Peter Cull (pictured below) and attracted 14 walkers.
 Peter Cull - A-Walk leader
The advertised route for today’s A-walk had to be modified due to flooding on a section of the Cleveland Way (CW) near Highcliffe Farm {NZ 608 131}. Our amended route took us from Ormesby Bank, to Flatts Lane, the Crosskeys Inn , Pinchinthorpe Visitors Centre, Hutton Village and Highcliff Nab - where we stopped for lunch. After our lunch-stop we continued along the route of the CW to Slapewath, Skelton Green (tea stop), Skelton and the Valley Gardens in Saltburn.

During the walk we covered a distance of 15 miles and arrived in Saltburn with ample time to take some welcome refreshments before boarding our coach for the homeward journey to Teesside.

Click the pink button below in order to see a selection of the photographs that we took during the walk.

Many thanks to Jane Thompson and Phil Barker for taking the photographs.
