Sunday Walking to Kirkby Stephen

On Sunday, 6th September, the Stockton Rambling Club will have three walks in the Hartley area of East Cumbria. All walks will finish in Kirkby Stephen {NY 774 088} - see the following maps.

The A-walk will start at Aisgill Cottages {SD 778 962} and will take in Hell Gill Bridge, High Rigg, Hugh Seat, Nine Standards Rigg and Hartley Fell.
 
The B-walk will commence at Winton {NY 784 105} and will visit Hartley Fell, Faraday Gill, Nine Standards Rigg and Nateby Common.
 
The C-walk will also set off from Winton and will pass through Beckfoot, Soulby, Smardale Mill and Waithby Intake.
 
This is a Route 2 coach pick-up (Billingham: 9.00 am, Acklam: 9.15 am and Stockton: 9.30 am).
 
Note: Because of the road race, the Acklam pick-up will be at Croft Avenue opposite Cranford Gardens.

On Monday, 31st August, Stockton Rambling Club has a mid-week evening walk in the Guisborough area of the North York Moors. Please meet at 5.00 pm at the Cross Keys hostelry {NZ 567 157} on the Guisborough Road (A171) - see the following map.

Sunday Walking to Chop Gate

On Sunday, 30th August, the Stockton Rambling Club will have three walks in the Bilsdale area of the North York Moors. All walks will finish in Chop Gate {SE 558 993} - see the following maps.

The A-walk will start at Chop Gate and will follow a circular route that takes in Brian's Pond, Carlton Bank, a section of the Cleveland Way, Clay Bank and Medd Crag.
 
The B-walk will also commence at Chop Gate and will visit Carlton Bank, Garfitts, The Hagg and Seave Green.
 
The C-walk will set off from Newgate Bank {SE 564 888} and will pass through Limestone Ridge, Low Mill, Stable Holme and Crookleith.
 
This is a Route 1 coach pick-up (Billingham: 9.00 am, Stockton: 9.15 am and Acklam: 9.30 am).
 
Note: After the walks, tea and scones will be available at the Village Hall in Chop Gate.
