Early-May Mid-Week Walking
(2012-04-30)

During the week beginning 30th April, Stockton Rambling Club will have TWO mid-week walks available. One is an evening walk and the other is a day walk.
 


The evening walk is on Wednesday, 2nd May and will start at 7.00 pm from the King's Head in Newton-under-Roseberry - see the map below.

Club Weekend in Cleator - Sunday Walks

On Sunday, 29th April, the Stockton Rambling Club will have three circular walks in the Ennerdale Water area of the Lake District. All walks will start and finish at Ennerdale Bridge {NY 069 159} - see the following map.

The A-walk will involve an ascent of 2900 feet and will take in Great Borne, Starling Dodd, Red Pike and Ennerdale Water. The distance covered will be 13.0 miles.
 
The B-walk will involve an ascent of 1700 feet and will visit Grike, Crag Fell and Ennerdale Water. The distance covered will be 10.5 miles.
 
The C-walk will involve an ascent of 500 feet and will pass around Ennerdale Water. The distance covered will be 9.5 miles.
 

Club Weekend - Cleator (Saturday walks)

On Saturday, 28th April, the Stockton Rambling Club will have three circular walks in the Wast Water area of the Lake District. All walks will start and finish in Nether Wasdale {NY 124 040} - see the following map.

The A-walk will involve 2800 feet of ascent and will take in Whin Rigg, Illgill Head, Burnmoor Tarn and Miterdale. The distance covered will be 11.5 miles.
 
The B-walk will involve 2000 feet of ascent and will visit Santon Bridge, Irton Fell and Whin Rigg. The distance covered will be 10.0 miles
 
The C-walk will involve 1200 feet of ascent and will pass through Santon Bridge, Irton Fell and Lund Bridge. The distance covered will be 9.5 miles.
 

SRC Club Weekend in Cleator - Travel Arrangements

The SRC Western Lakes weekend will take place on the weekend of the 27th April. We will be staying in the Ennerdale Country House Hotel {NY 018 137} in the Cleator area of the Western Lake District - see the following map.

Sunday Walking to Hutton-le-Hole

SPECIAL EVENT: Visit to Mousey Thompson Museum

On Thursday, 19th April, Stockton Rambling Club has a special event organised. This will take the form of a visit to the Mousey Thompson Museum in Kilburn. There is also an optional 6 mile walk available with this event. The cost of the museum visit is £4.50.
