Early-September Mid-Week Walking (2014-09-04)

On Thursday, 4th September, Stockton Rambling Club has a mid-week walk in the Bilsdale area of the North York Moors. Please meet at 10.30 am at Clay Bank car park {NZ 572 036} - see the following map.

Sunday Walking to Chop Gate

On Sunday, 31st August, the Stockton Rambling Club will have three walks in the Bilsdale area of the North York Moors. All walks will finish in Chop Gate {SE 559 993} - see the following maps.

The A-walk will start at Oscar Park Farm {SE 572 873} and will take in High Baxton's Farm, Carlton Grange, Stump Cross and Tripsdale.
 
The B-walk will commence at Rievaulx {SE 582 852} and will visit Shaken Bridge, Fangdale, Stable Holme and Crookleiths.
 
The C-walk will set off from Newgate Bank {SE 564 888} and will pass through Fangdale Beck, Stable Holme and Crossholme Bridge.
 
This is a Route 1 coach pick-up (Billingham: 9.00 am, Stockton: 9.15 am and Acklam: 9.30 am).
 
Note: Due to the road race, the Acklam pick-up will be at Croft Road - opposite Canfield Gardens. Also, at the end of the walks, tea and scones will be available at the Village Hall in Chop Gate.

Late-August Mid-Week Walking (2014-08-25)

During the week beginning 25th August, Stockton Rambling Club will have TWO mid-week walks available. One is an evening walk and the other is a day walk.
 


The evening walk is on Monday, 25th August and will start at 5.00 pm from The King's Head hostelry in Newton under Rosebery {NZ 570 129} - see the map below.

The B-walk will commence at Greenhead {NY 659 653} and will visit the Roman Wall, Cawfields, Wealside, West & East Stonefolds and a section of the Pennine Way.
 
The C-walk will set off from Shield on the Wall {NY 729 663} and will pass through Caw Gap, Gibbs Hill, West & East Stonefolds and a section of the Pennine Way.
