Early-May Mid-Week Walking
(2011-05-02)

During the week beginning 2nd May, Stockton Rambling Club will have TWO mid-week walks available. One is an evening walk and the other is a day walk.



The evening walk is on Wednesday, 4th May and will start at 7.00 pm from the Raby Arms in Hart {NZ 472 349} - see the map below.

Sunday Walking to Leyburn

On Sunday, 1st May, the Stockton Rambling Club will have three walks in the Wensleydale area of North Yorkshire. All walks will finish in Leyburn {SE 111 905} - see the following map.

The A-walk will start at Jervaulx Abbey {SE 172 853} and will take in Ellingstring, Gollinglith Foot, Red Way and Melmerby.

The B-walk will commence at Middleham {SE 127 877} and will visit Hullo Bridge, Caldbergh, Melmerby and The Shawl.

The C-walk will also set off from Middleham and will pass through Coverham, Tupgill Park, Scaw Bottom and Wensley Bridge.

This is a Route 2 coach pick up (Billingham: 9.30 am, Acklam: 9.45 am and Stockton: 10.00 am).

Easter Sunday Walking to Helmsley

On Sunday, 24th April, the Stockton Rambling Club will have three walks in the Bilsdale area of the North York Moors. All walks will finish in Helmsley {SE 613 838} - see the following map.

The A-walk will start at Chop Gate {SE 559 994} and will take in Colt House, Ankness, Throstle Nest and Riccaldale.

The B-walk will also commence at Chop Gate and will visit Stable Holme, Carr Cote Ridge and Acre Grain.

The C-walk will set off from Newgate Bank {SE 564 888} and will pass through High Baxton's Farm, Carlton Grange and Riccaldale.

Wednesday Night Walking
(2011-04-06)

Stockton Rambling Club's evening walks programme started with great momentum on the 6th April with the first of a weekly series of evening walks. Eighteen people gathered at the posting box in Hartburn Village at 7.00 pm in order to take part in a six-mile circular walk that was led by Austin Bradley.

The walk took in Hartburn Beck, Preston Park, River Tees, Great Holme, Chapel Hill, The Horse Shoe, Bowesfield and Ropner Park.

After the walk, members of the group gathered at the Parkwood Hotel in Hartburn for 'apres promenade' refreshments.

The next event in this series of evening walks will be held on Wednesday 13th April starting from Nunthorpe Church at 7.00 pm.

Mid-April Mid-Week Walking

During the week beginning 18th April, Stockton Rambling Club will have THREE mid-week events available. The first is a day walk, the second is an evening walk and the third is a guided tour and walk.
