Sunday Walking to Slapewath

On Sunday, 4th December, the Stockton Rambling Club will have three walks in the North-Eastern area of the North York Moors. All walks will finish in Slapewath {NZ 643 157} - see the following map.

The A-walk will start at Wilton {NZ 585 195} and will take in Sandy Lane, Saltburn, Warsett and Brotton.

The B-walk will also commence at Wilton and will visit Sandy Lane, Saltburn, Skelton and Skelton Green.

The C-walk will set off from Marske {NZ 635 225} and will pass through Saltburn, the Cleveland Way and Skelton.

This is a Route 1 coach pick up and is also an early start (Billingham: 9.00 am, Stockton: 9.15 am and Acklam: 9.30 am).

Note:
Following the walks, there will be a meal at the Fox and Hounds hostelry in Slapewath. This event must be pre-booked - please ring Mary on 01642-350504 in order to place your booking.

The A-walk will start at Ingleby Greenhow {NZ 582 063} and will take in Baysdale, Hograh Moor and Round Hill.

The B-walk will also commence at Ingleby Greenhow and will visit Baysdale Bloworth Crossing and Round Hill.

The C-walk will set off from Chop Gate {SE 559 993} and will follow a circular route that will pass through Raisdale Mill, Lord Stones and Cock Howe.

Early Christmas for A-Walkers

Last Sunday's A-walk (6th November) was expertly led by Roger Blacklock. His route took us from Sleights to Lealholm via Beck Hole. As we crossed the A169 near Blue Bank (NZ 861 048), we came across a small decorated Christmas tree - see the picture below. Click on the picture to enlarge it.
