SRC Club Weekend in Shap Wells (Lake District)

The SRC weekend will take place on the weekend of Friday 5th May. We will be staying in the Best Western Shap Wells Hotel {NY578.096} in the South-Eastern Lake District - see the following map.

This is a Route 2 coach pick up (Billingham: 6.15 pm, Acklam: 6.30 pm and Stockton: 6.45 pm).
 

DAY 1 Details (Saturday walks)

On Saturday, 6th May, the Stockton Rambling Club will have three walks in the Smardale area of the south-east Lake District. All walks will finish in Ravenstonedale {NY723.040} - see the following map.

The A-walk will start at Orton {NY622.081} and will take in Scar Side, Coalpit Hill, Gaythorne, Great Kettle and Smardale Bridge.
 
The B-walk will commence at Newbiggin {NY705.053} and will visit Dales High Way, Asby Grange, Potts, Bull Flat and Smardale Bridge.
 
The C-walk will also set off from Newbiggin and will pass through Great Crosby Fell, Crosby Garret and Smardale Gill Walkway.
 

DAY 2 Details (Sunday Walks)

On Sunday, 7th May, the Stockton Rambling Club will have three circular walks in the Hawswater area of the south-east Lake District. All walks will start and finish in Shap {NY562.153} - see the following map.

The A-walk will take in White Crag, Mosedale Cottage, Artlecrag Pike, Selside, Doghill and Keld.
 
The B-walk will visit Keld, Rawhead, Naddle Bridge, Hawswater, Drybarrows and Bampton.
 
The C-walk will pass through Rosgill, Bampton, Haweswater, Naddle Gate, Rawhead and Rosgill.

During the week beginning 1st May, Stockton Rambling Club will have TWO mid-week walks available. One is an evening walk and the other is a day walk.

The C-walk will set off from Egton {NZ808.064} and will pass through Blue Beck, Beck Hole, Mallyon Spout and Goathland.
